A former VP of a genetic company, Proove Biosciences, Inc., plead guilty to conspiring to pay kickbacks to physicians for ordering genetic tests for Medicare beneficiaries. Physicians were paid to induce them to order DNA tests that the company claimed could determine a patient’s risk of abusing certain prescription narcotics.
Proove Biosciences. Inc. billed approximately $45 million to the Medicare program for the tests. Read the full story here.
