If you are contacted about a $200 prescription drug card, and asked for personal identifying information, hang up! The prescription drug card is only a proposal at this time. The caller is hoping you will provide personal identifying information such as Medicare number, Social Security number, date of birth , or any other information that identifies you personally. The scammers then use this information for their personal financial gain, and may result in your medical or identity theft.
If you spot potential Medicare fraud, report it to Ohio SMP at (513) 458-5515 option 7, or use the report fraud button on this App.
